Factorial Design

Factorial Design

information compiled by L. Coffin

What is Factorial Design? Well, it is one tool that researchers can use to design experiments. An experiment using factorial design allows one to examine simultaneously the effects of multiple indepedent variables and their degree of interaction. (That was semi-quoted from William Trochim so if you didn't understand it, read on and I'll walk you through it.)

There are many types of design available to use. Let's see if you even need to consider factorial design before you continue with this site!

How many independent variables (or factors as we call them in factorial design) do you have in your experiment?

1 factor

2 or more factors
