As there are many Statistical Analysis Packages available today, you must have a basic understanding of the analysis you are hopping to complete on your data.

There are several type analysis which can be performed:

Quantitative Analysis which examines numeric information and provides output describing the data.  The output can be used to determine Liner Regression, Non-Liner Regression, Correlation, Logistic, Descriptive Analysis, and/or a combination.

Qualitative Analysis which examines the non-numeric information collected in research.  This  qualitative information might consist of success stories, open-ended questionnaires, or focus groups.

Repeated Measures or Time Series Analysis expands the Pre-Post Test model to include at least one other "mid-point' examination of the group members values for a specific set of variables.
